Collection: Troughs & Basins

Antique stone troughs and basins, most of them originally working objects: watering troughs, sinks, feed basins, and washing stones out of European farms and courtyards. They were carved to survive outdoors and they have, which is why the wear on them reads as history rather than damage.

A trough is the piece that keeps a formal garden from feeling staged. Planted, it holds a mass of one thing beautifully. Left empty and filled with water, it becomes a still reflecting basin that catches the sky.

Every piece here is one of a kind. Sizes, depths, and stone types vary by whatever we happen to find, and when one sells it does not come back. If you are working toward a specific size or a matched pair, tell us and we will keep an eye out.
